J.M. Troppello, Author and Entrepreneur

My husband and I have tithed throughout our marriage. However, when difficult financial times came, we didn’t always tithe faithfully. In the last two years, we’ve had financial difficulties. But this time, we made a pact to tithe faithfully — no matter what our financial circumstances were. Tithing faithfully has given us such fulfillment. We know we’re walking in obedience to God.

Do Not Rob God

8 “Will a man rob God?
Yet you have robbed Me!
But you say,
‘In what way have we robbed You?’
In tithes and offerings.
9 You are cursed with a curse,
For you have robbed Me,
Even this whole nation.
10 Bring all the tithes into the storehouse,
That there may be food in My house,
And try Me now in this,”
Says the Lord of hosts,
“If I will not open for you the windows of heaven
And pour out for you such blessing
That there will not be room enough to receive it.
11 “And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes,
So that he will not destroy the fruit of your ground,
Nor shall the vine fail to bear fruit for you in the field,”
Says the Lord of hosts;
12 “And all nations will call you blessed,
For you will be a delightful land,”
Says the Lord of hosts.
(Malachi 3:8;12, NKJV)

Tithing faithfully has given us such peace. We know that God is Jehovah Jireh, our Provider. “The name Jehovah Jireh is first seen in Genesis 22:14 when God provides a ram in the thicket in a place of the sacrifice of his son.”

And Abraham called the name of the place, [a]The-Lord-Will-Provide; as it is said to this day, “In the Mount of the Lord it shall be provided.” (Gen. 22:14, NKJV)

A few months ago, I renamed my publication, The Beauty Sentinel, and changed it to The Shalom Sentinel. Then, I started a Facebook chat group for people who were seeking God’s peace and desiring to live a life of shalom shalom — true peace and wholeness.

My journey toward financial peace took another step in the right direction when I connected with Mary Gallagher on Facebook. I learned about her own journey to personal financial freedom.

My husband and I started on the Legacy Builders Program and are on our new journey toward financial freedom. We’re working our way to daily pay with a proven blueprint for how to start an online business that works.

God’s been stretching our faith and helping us grow closer to Him during this time. We’re trusting Him to continue to guide our path. We just need to keep our eyes on Him and stay immersed in His Word.

Has God been asking you to step out in faith recently?
